Disconnecting from the Internet wouldn't have helped in the least since the OS had already finished downloading and was installing Mavericks from the hard drive.
Jan 19, 2018 Press F4 to bring up Launchpad view, and click and hold on an app. Icons will begin to jiggle and any programs you can uninstall from here will have an X in their top left corner. Jun 20, 2019 This isn’t like a normal app installation getting stuck but the fix is fairly easy. Here’s how you can fix Xcode stuck on ‘Installing’ on macOS. Xcode is a large app and when you install it from the Mac App Store, it tends to download a little slowly. It could be that the app, or the app installer, has become corrupt and this is why your Mac won’t install or update it. The only remedy for this is to remove the app from your machine entirely and download it again from scratch. As most Mac OS X applications are just installed via drag and drop (read and write), you can't prevent that for a standard user. And as most applications don't need to access critical system files.
I just watched a bit of the race from last year that was shown, but the performance of my laptop was a bit poor, so I restarted it, but now when I select any Sports channel from my browser (Chrome) in Windows 10 v.1903, it gives the pop-up to open the Now TV Player app, which then opens and loads for a few seconds and then closes again. When i try to open my origin it opens for like one second only showing the loading circle and then closes itself. I have tried to reinstall origin by deleting it and than installing it again.by installing origin again over the one i have installed but none of that worked. I have signed up for the Photoshop CC and Lightroom package. Lightroom is running fine (Lightroom 5.2, 64-bit, Windows 7). However, although Photoshop seemed to install OK, when I open it, it immediately shuts down. When I look in Creative Cloud manager, it says Photoshop CC is 'up to date'. Suddenly I can't open any pdf files on my Windows 7 computer. I've tried several versions of Reader but none work. The same thing happens whether I just try to open a pdf file or try to open Reader itself. Is there some setting on my computer that's causing this. I've unistalled and reinstalled. Some apps might stop Chrome from working properly. On your computer, open Chrome. At the top-right, click More Settings. At the bottom, click Advanced. Under 'Reset and clean up', click Update or remove incompatible applications. If you don’t see this option, there isn’t a problem application. App opens and closes right away on mac.

You had OS X, 10.7 Lion on the drive, not iOS anything. OS X is the operating system for Mac computers such as the Mac Pro, iMac, Mac Mini and MacBook Pro. iOS is a completely separate OS and is only for mobile devices such as the iPhone and iPad.
The installer will be called 'Install macOS High Sierra' or something similar and will have an image of a ridge of mountains on it. As long as the installer is present in the Applications folder, you can proceed.

Since Mavericks is now on the drive, the only way to go back to Lion, which your Mac came with, is to do an Internet Recovery. You WILL lose everything on the drive. Make sure to back up files you cannot afford to lose, first.

How to get whats app on mac. If you’re on a Windows device, opening the download will automatically open the app, skipping the Mac installation steps. Click “Open.”.
These advanced steps are primarily for system administrators and others who are familiar with the command line. You don't need a bootable installer to upgrade macOS or reinstall macOS, but it can be useful when you want to install on multiple computers without downloading the installer each time.
What you need to create a bootable installer
- A USB flash drive or other secondary volume, formatted as Mac OS Extended, with at least 12GB of available storage
- A downloaded installer for macOS Big Sur, Catalina, Mojave, High Sierra, or El Capitan
Download macOS
![Macos Macos](/uploads/1/3/3/8/133868326/164503294.jpg)
- Download: macOS Big Sur, macOS Catalina, macOS Mojave, or macOS High Sierra
These download to your Applications folder as an app named Install macOS [version name]. If the installer opens after downloading, quit it without continuing installation. To get the correct installer, download from a Mac that is using macOS Sierra 10.12.5 or later, or El Capitan 10.11.6. Enterprise administrators, please download from Apple, not a locally hosted software-update server. - Download: OS X El Capitan
This downloads as a disk image named InstallMacOSX.dmg. On a Mac that is compatible with El Capitan, open the disk image and run the installer within, named InstallMacOSX.pkg. It installs an app named Install OS X El Capitan into your Applications folder. You will create the bootable installer from this app, not from the disk image or .pkg installer.
Use the 'createinstallmedia' command in Terminal
- Connect the USB flash drive or other volume that you're using for the bootable installer.
- Open Terminal, which is in the Utilities folder of your Applications folder.
- Type or paste one of the following commands in Terminal. These assume that the installer is in your Applications folder, and MyVolume is the name of the USB flash drive or other volume you're using. If it has a different name, replace
MyVolume
in these commands with the name of your volume.
Big Sur:*
Catalina:*
Mojave:*
High Sierra:*
Mac system stats app. El Capitan:
* If your Mac is using macOS Sierra or earlier, include the
--applicationpath
argument and installer path, similar to the way this is done in the command for El Capitan. After typing the command:
- Press Return to enter the command.
- When prompted, type your administrator password and press Return again. Terminal doesn't show any characters as you type your password.
- When prompted, type Y to confirm that you want to erase the volume, then press Return. Terminal shows the progress as the bootable installer is created.
- When Terminal says that it's done, the volume will have the same name as the installer you downloaded, such as Install macOS Catalina. You can now quit Terminal and eject the volume.
Use the bootable installer
After creating the bootable installer, follow these steps to use it:
- Plug the bootable installer into a Mac that is connected to the internet and compatible with the version of macOS you're installing.
- Press and hold the Option (Alt) ⌥ key immediately after turning on or restarting your Mac.
- Release the Option key when you see a dark screen showing your bootable volumes.
If you can't start up from the bootable installer, make sure that the External Boot setting in Startup Security Utility is set to allow booting from external media. - Choose your language, if prompted.
- Select Install macOS (or Install OS X) from the Utilities window, then click Continue and follow the onscreen instructions.
